Launching todayThe one line that says what it does
Two or three sentences on what your product does, who it is for and why now. Only the first lines show before see more, so lead with what people get.
A preview for planning, laid out like a launch page. Not affiliated with Product Hunt; the real page also shows your rank, upvotes and comments.
Type your launch details to copy them.
Product Hunt's launch guide asks for the product's name alone, with no description or emoji; a tagline of at most 60 characters; a description of at most 500; a square thumbnail, 240 by 240 recommended and under 3 MB, which can be a GIF; and two or more gallery images at the recommended 1270 by 760. A video is optional and must be a YouTube link. These were read on the guide on October 10, 2026.
The gallery shape is the one most often missed. A 1270 by 760 image is about 5:3, wider than a 16:9 screenshot is tall and nothing like a 4:5 social post, so images exported for Instagram or a slide deck will not fill the frame. Design the gallery at 1270 by 760, or resize what you have with the image resizer.
The tagline sits under your name everywhere your launch appears: the daily list, the launch page and every share. It has 60 characters to say what the product does, so name the job, not the technology. A description gets 500 characters, but the launch page shows only its first lines before see more, so the first sentence has to stand on its own.
The first image in the gallery carries the most weight, so make it the clearest picture of the product in use, with a few words that name the result. Put the story, the pricing and what kind of feedback you want in your first comment, where Product Hunt places it right below the gallery.
A launch spreads furthest when the people who already follow you hear about it the same day: a post on your LinkedIn page and Instagram that says you are live and where to find you, then posts in the days after on what people asked and what you changed. The LinkedIn post preview and the Instagram post preview check those before they go out.
After launch week the feed goes quiet unless someone keeps it going. Creobee writes and designs a week of posts at a time from one description of your business, for your LinkedIn page and Instagram, and on Autopilot it posts them for you. See social media posts for SaaS.
Type the product name, the tagline and the description. The counters show Product Hunt's limits as you type.
Add a square thumbnail and two or more gallery images, plus your website and up to three launch tags.
Switch between Computer and Phone, read what shows before see more, and fix anything the checks flag before launch day.
Product Hunt recommends 1270 by 760 pixels and two or more images. The preview shows them in that shape and flags any image that is a different shape or narrower than 1270 pixels.
A square image, 240 by 240 pixels recommended, under 3 MB. It can be a GIF.
